Patterns in Photoshop

In the "Resources for Learning" section of this blog, I posted Scott E. Franson's tutorials for creating repeating textures and making brush textures out of them. Here's an example of what you can do with that:

First, I created this pattern by using the brush tool and the offset filter:

After defining the previous image as a pattern, I applied that pattern to my brush, picked a color, and painted this in a matter of seconds:
